3 Ways to Showcase your Space with LA Surveys
We established LA Surveys five years ago in response to the repeated issues we were facing as architects relying on surveys that were inaccurate or incomplete. Since then, we’ve facilitated dozens of complex construction projects with our highly accurate and detailed surveys, which provide insights that only architects can offer.
As well as their technical value, our surveys have also proven useful as a marketing and property management tool. For each of our projects, we use advanced scanning technology to amass thousands of data points into a ‘point cloud’, which is used to produce a precise 360-degree visualisation of a building’s complete interior and exterior. As an optional extra, our clients can also include panoramic photography, which produces a high-resolution fly-through of the property. Combined, the point cloud and the photography provide a detailed, accurate and measurable representation of a full building at any point in time.
But of course, it’s not just the survey data that we provide; we build an accurate 3D BIM model of the property to whatever level of detail is needed. From this model we generate a full suite of traditional 2D drawings too.

Here are just some of the ways you can showcase your space with LA Surveys:
Property sales
All of the data collected by our Faro scanners during a survey is collated into a central hub, FARO Sphere XG, and made available via a web browser that can be viewed and navigated in real time. Prospective homebuyers and other stakeholders can take a virtual tour of the property, with the added benefit of being able to toggle between the point cloud data and the 360º photography, allowing the property to be viewed remotely in lifelike detail and at the same time take millimetre accurate measurements.

We used this technology to produce 3D models for a client who was selling two penthouses in Mayfair. Through a link to our secure, password-protected portal, the client could share the virtual tour with prospective buyers, allowing them to experience every angle of the apartments without needing to arrange an in-person visit. This was particularly useful for overseas buyers, opening up sales opportunities to a wider international market.
Spaces for hire
Our models are also useful as a way to visualise office spaces, conference rooms, auditoriums or event spaces for prospective tenants or events organisers. Clients can embed our models and surveys on their own websites, allowing visitors to view a space in its entirety on screen.
We worked with Menier Venues to create a virtual tour of one of its event spaces. Once the survey was complete, we shared an embedding link so that the team at Menier team could host it on their own website. This allowed prospective tenants to experience a realistic virtual walking tour through the space, viewing its facilities, utilities and decor.
Property management
““The LA Surveys team handled it all brilliantly. We are very happy with the results, which look amazing, and look forward to working again with them on future projects.””
Point cloud surveys are a useful tool for property management companies such as Caroline Baker, who asked us to scan a property belonging to a client who lived overseas. The client was thinking of undertaking a renovation project and needed an accurate visual record of the building’s current state before signing off on certain decisions.
Our 3D visualisation provided a detailed picture of every angle of the property, which the client could navigate in full without the limitations imposed by still photographs or pre-recorded video footage. Caroline Baker’s managing director, Lucas Kaempfer, commented, “LA Surveys carried out a 3D scan of a large property for a client of ours. The house’s footprint is exceedingly complicated with a lot of rooms and their team handled it all brilliantly. We are very happy with the results, which look amazing, and look forward to working again with them on future projects.”
